As a longtime trailblazer and activist within the Corpus Christi LGBTQ scene, Aaron created safe spaces through his beloved clubs, giving us a place to thrive and celebrate acceptance. His legacy will live on in our hearts.

Pride Corpus Christi was proud to present @hazel.rose.14855 on Pride Night at the @cchooks. Hailing from Falfurrias and known for their powerful voice as part of a mariachi group, Hazel made history as the first transgender singer to perform the National Anthem at a Hooks game. In a time when visibility is often met with resistance, this moment reminds us that even in darkness, progress still finds its voice.

Pride Corpus Christi Vice President @bobby_kymes had the opportunity tonight at the @cchooks Pride Night game to share the mic with Texas Riviera Empire Reign 37 Emporer @fidel_morin. They quickly discussed the work of both organizations in the community and tomorrow’s Pride Gala at the @thebayjewel fundraising for the Rainbow Room. Tickets are still available and donation items such as diapers, clothing, toys and more are encouraged.

It was a night of Stinging and Stunning at the @kspacecontemporary Art of Drag fundraiser in downtown Corpus Christi. Thank you to @fidel_morin, who shared powerful words about the legacy and impact of the Texas Riviera Empire—don’t miss their upcoming fundraiser on June 26th. Special thanks to host @texaso361, the phenomenal performers @naomievans6210, @planetmatte, and many others who lit up the stage. @ophelia_tits brought high-glam energy to our VIPs with stunning makeup artistry, and @kkyless kept the vibe sharp and the sound on point all night long. To every ticket holder and supporter, your presence amplified the spirit of Pride Month and helped strengthen our LGBTQIA+ community.

Thank you to all the brave adventurers, dazzling divas, and queer champions who joined us for the Dungeons, Dragons & Divas Pride Pub Crawl! From completing quests led by @isis_paris_york at every stop and winning free swag @lazybeachdowntowncc or @retro_corpus to slaying the night at Disco 3000 with @weirdcorpus and @houseorock, you brought the magic, the mischief, and the pride.

We hope everyone had an epic time rolling with us, raising a glass @oldkresslive to powerful ballads, and celebrating in true high-fantasy queer fashion with @kitana_sanchez, @brittanyramirezandrews, @theedino97 and more. We had an absolute blast getting dolled up yesterday at our Free Makeup Workshop upstairs at @thehiddendoorcc! Huge thanks to our fabulous hosts @ophelia_tits and @amanda_rekonwiv for sharing their talents and creativity with everyone.

Participants got hands-on guidance in creating androgynous, drag king, and drag queen looks using affordable makeup kits, and the results were nothing short of fierce.

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times published a harmful opinion piece suggesting LGBTQIA+ people should hide who they are, and used a photo of one of our own to do it. We won’t stay silent.

Visibility is not sexualization. Living authentically is not a threat. And calling for queer people to go “back in the closet” is not an opinion, it’s discrimination.
